I hate being ripped off. As a consumer it’s painful enough to pay for things these days, let alone knowing that you’re paying more for nothing. I went to a local Postal Annex this morning to get a key copied. The price was fair and it was convenient. When I went to pay I was informed that there would be a 50 cent charge for using my debit/credit card. I had no cash, the service had been performed and I was stuck. 50 cents is not a lot of money - but why treat customers that way? I’d been there before and asked if that was a new “disservice.” It was, and it will be the last time I go there.  Ted Stearns

 

On the flip-side, my local grocery store credits my purchase 5 cents for every bag I bring in. That 15 cents a visit is not going to pay my mortgage, but it’s just plain nice.  Anyone can smell a rip-off Ted Stearns
